This is the build list for everything Chapter 5 covered, in the order it makes sense to actually do it. Work top to bottom. The items near the top are the legal and privacy foundations that are hardest to undo once they are wrong, and some of them are required before you produce anything, so give those the most thought and do not skip ahead of them. The last two sections are branches that apply only if you collaborate with others or run text services, and they are marked.
## Lay the legal and identity foundation first
– [ ] Decide your business structure, starting as a sole proprietor and moving to an LLC as your income, your assets to protect, and your privacy needs grow, and form any entity through a registered agent so your legal name stays off the public record.
– [ ] Build your identity separation before you are ever exposed, since it is the hardest thing to undo once leaked: a dedicated persona email and phone, usernames you never reuse from personal life, a PO box or commercial address for public and financial mail, metadata stripping, strong account security, and data-broker opt-outs.
– [ ] Set up your verification and recordkeeping before you produce anything, because the record has to exist at the moment content is made and the law does not bend on it: keep your own age documentation, arrange a third-party custodian of records to keep your home address private, and have a process ready to collect a government photo ID and signed release from anyone who ever appears in your content.
## Put the money infrastructure in place
– [ ] Open a dedicated business bank account kept entirely separate from your personal money, and build redundancy with more than one account at more than one institution so a single closure is survivable rather than catastrophic.
– [ ] Set up payment handling that actually permits adult work: rely on the platforms’ own processing for platform income, and for any direct sales use an adult-specialized processor rather than a mainstream one that will seize funds and ban you, with a backup processor ready.
– [ ] Sweep your earnings out of accounts and processors on a regular rhythm so little is exposed if one freezes, and never misrepresent your business to a bank or structure your deposits, since both turn a manageable risk into a serious one.
– [ ] Set up clean, separated bookkeeping from the first dollar, set aside a meaningful slice of every payment for quarterly taxes, report all income whether or not a form arrives, and hire a tax professional who understands adult work.
## Know the legal ground under you
– [ ] Learn your own jurisdiction’s rules cold and keep the patchwork in view: content by verified adults is legal, while obscenity and anything involving minors are not, and platform and payment rules apply on top. Get a lawyer who works in the industry for your specifics.
– [ ] Only if you have an international audience or sell directly across borders: account for other countries’ age-verification and VAT or GST rules, lean on platforms that handle that compliance, and bring in a cross-border tax professional before building a direct international storefront.
## Protect your funds and your boundaries day to day
– [ ] Keep your chargeback ratio low with discreet billing descriptors, painless cancellation, fast service and pre-emptive refunds, honest delivery, pre-rebill reminders, and your processor’s fraud screening, and watch the ratio as one of the numbers that can end your processing.
– [ ] Set your DM boundaries as a stated system rather than a mood, hold the line between your persona and your real self, keep contact on the platform, work within response hours and saved replies, and move to threat response the moment a message turns threatening.
## Only if you collaborate with others
– [ ] Vet any collaborator before you agree to anything, checking their reputation and references in the community, their track record and professionalism, and any red flags, and walk away from anything that feels off no matter their following.
– [ ] For any shoot with a partner, collect their government ID and signed release and confirm consent before filming, handle sexual-health testing and on-set safety, and lock in mutual confidentiality.
– [ ] Put the collaboration terms in writing, covering the scope, the content rights and what happens to the content if you stop working together, the revenue split with the gross-versus-net and payout-holder and tax mechanics settled, and confidentiality, scaling the formality to the stakes.
## Only if you run text-based services
– [ ] Price text as the labor it is, set hours when you are available, and build a personalizable material library and conversation notes so the service scales without burning you out.
– [ ] Keep ready, saved consent and verification scripts: an adults-only opening frame, clear boundaries, ongoing consent, an age confirmation up front, and a flat hard stop for any signal of a minor that you end immediately and never reopen.
– [ ] If you bring on chatters to run your text, confirm your platform allows someone else to operate the account, put a real agreement in place with them, and weigh the trust you risk with fans against the reach you gain.
